Residents of Bishkek are invited to get acquainted with the "Fantastic World of Mikhail Bulgakov"

The State National Russian Drama Theater named after Ch. Aitmatov will host an exhibition dedicated to the works of Mikhail Bulgakov starting on March 27. According to the theater's press service, this event is timed to coincide with the 135th anniversary of the writer's birth and the 60th anniversary of the publication of his famous novel "The Master and Margarita."

At the exhibition, visitors will be able to learn fascinating facts about Bulgakov's life, as well as see archival photographs, documents, publications of his works, theatrical posters, and adaptations of his books. The exhibition stands will provide detailed information about the comedic elements in his works and the connection of his writings with the genre of fantasy, including parallels between "The Master and Margarita" and Chyngyz Aitmatov's novel "The Place of the Execution."

The exhibition was prepared by Russian historian and educator Anna Esparsa, who will also conduct a theatrical tour and organize a prize draw for fans of Bulgakov's work. The materials of the exhibition will be presented in Kyrgyz and Russian, and admission will be free.

After the exhibition concludes at 6:00 PM, a performance of "The Master and Margarita" will take place at the Russian Drama Theater. Tickets can be purchased at the theater box office or on the Ticket.kg website:

The exhibition is organized by the ANO "Translation Institute" with the support of the Russian Embassy in Kyrgyzstan, the Russian House in Bishkek, and the Russian Drama Theater named after Ch. Aitmatov.
