The State Committee for National Security (SCNS) of Kyrgyzstan is changing its approach to its activities, moving from intimidation methods to legal measures and reducing the politicization of its agency. This was stated in an interview with AKIpress by Jumgalbek Shabdanbekov, the chairman of the SCNS.
The President has set the task of stopping unreasonable inspections and pressure on businesses. In accordance with this initiative, starting from January 2026, such inspections of entrepreneurs will be halted.
In this regard, on March 16, I held a meeting with representatives of major business communities from various sectors, such as construction, pharmaceuticals, banking, and holdings. During the meeting, which took place in a constructive atmosphere, entrepreneurs shared their suggestions and opinions, and we must take these points into account to create more favorable conditions for business.
If cases of illegal actions by officials or administrative barriers are discovered, all such facts will be examined strictly in accordance with the law, and they will be given a legal assessment.
Also, if individuals among businessmen are found to be engaged in illegal activities or involved in criminal schemes, they will bear the legal responsibility established by law, noted the head of the special service.

He added that almost all SCNS employees—about 99%—perform their official duties diligently and responsibly, adhering to the law and the interests of the state. Their work is aimed at ensuring national security and protecting constitutional order.
However, as in any system, there may be cases of violations by individual employees. However, due to the actions of a small group, a negative attitude towards the entire national security system should not be formed. Currently, a cleansing of dishonest workers is underway.
