In the CIS, measures for rapid response to global crises and the reorientation of trade flows were discussed
During the meeting, participants discussed the preparation of specific proposals aimed at a joint response to economic challenges.
The initiative to create mechanisms for rapid response to changes in the external economic situation and to redirect trade flows was previously put forward by Uzbekistan within the framework of the Economic Council of the CIS.
The proposal from the Uzbek side includes updating the List of joint response measures adopted in 2022.
“Achieving stability in the economies of CIS countries is only possible through the development of mutual trade, expansion of production cooperation, and collaboration in the field of science and high technologies, especially against the backdrop of growing crisis phenomena in the global economy,” emphasized the Deputy Secretary General of the CIS, Ilkhom Nematov.
It is precisely these aspects that the initiative from Uzbekistan and the proposed measures for their implementation through the updating of the List of joint response measures to emerging problems are aimed at.
Participants of the Working Group will work on preparing a draft Decision of the Economic Council of the CIS, which will concern cooperation in key areas of economic collaboration. The materials will be sent for further coordination to the CIS member states.
