Employees of the Ural Interregional Office of Rosselkhoznadzor, in cooperation with customs authorities, prevented the import of two large batches of planting material on the A310 highway in the Chelyabinsk region. This incident occurred on March 3 near the checkpoint "Bugristoe".

The trucks arriving from Kyrgyzstan contained different groups of plants. One of the vehicles was carrying 72,100 seedlings, including cherry, pear, plum, thuja, sweet cherry, roses, and strawberry rootstocks, intending to unload in Kirov while heading to the Nizhny Novgorod region. The second truck was transporting 160,000 seedlings of various species, such as pear, apple, mulberry, sweet cherry, roses, and gladiolus bulbs, destined for the Mari El Republic with planned unloading in Moscow.

During the document inspection, inspectors identified discrepancies: the labeling of some plants lacked information about their place and plot of origin, which violates the requirements of the EAEU legislation in the field of plant quarantine. The import of such seedlings into the territory of Russia is unacceptable, as dangerous diseases or pests may be transferred under the guise of healthy plants.

As a result, Rosselkhoznadzor employees drew up the relevant acts and orders for return, and both trucks were sent back under the supervision of the agency.

The record of Rosselkhoznadzor's actions at the border regarding more than 230,000 seedlings from Kyrgyzstan first appeared in K-News.
