On March 3, on the A310 highway in the Chelyabinsk region, employees of the Ural Interregional Directorate of the Rosselkhoznadzor, in cooperation with customs authorities, prevented the importation of two large batches of seedlings. The incident occurred near the MAPP "Bugristoye".

One of the trucks, arriving from Kyrgyzstan, was carrying 72,100 seedlings, including cherries, pears, plums, thuja, sweet cherries, roses, and strawberry rootstocks, intended for delivery to the Nizhny Novgorod region with subsequent unloading in Kirov. The second truck was transporting 160,000 seedlings, including pears, apple trees, mulberries, sweet cherries, roses, and gladiolus bulbs, destined for the Mari El Republic (unloading was planned in Moscow).

The document inspection revealed violations: the labeling of some plants did not meet the established requirements, as there was no information about the place and plot of their origin.

These facts contradict the legislation of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) in the field of plant quarantine. The importation of such seedlings into the territory of Russia is prohibited, as dangerous diseases or pests may be introduced under the guise of healthy plants.

In this regard, the Rosselkhoznadzor officials drew up return acts, and both trucks returned under the supervision of the agency.

The Rosselkhoznadzor recorded the return of more than 230,000 seedlings from Kyrgyzstan at the border, as first reported by K-News.
