As Bakyt Akmatov, head of the control and labeling department for excise goods of the State Tax Service, reported, the fuel labeling system in Kyrgyzstan plays an important role in ensuring its authenticity and protecting consumer rights.

According to him, all fuel entering the country by rail undergoes a labeling procedure upon import. “It is not just a sign — it confirms the originality of the product,” noted Akmatov.

He also added that labeling is a guarantee of safety for citizens: “It ensures the integrity of the fuel until it is sold to the end consumer and prevents the possibility of unauthorized additives being added. If the fuel is tampered with, it will be classified as unlabeled and, accordingly, illegal.”

Furthermore, according to Akmatov, labeling is also an important tool for state control. “With this system, we can collect taxes and track the legal volumes of fuel supplies,” he concluded.
