Trade between the EAEU countries and Vietnam increased by 60% over 10 years
This free trade agreement, in effect for 10 years, has become the foundation for growth.
From 2016 to 2024, trade turnover between the countries of the Eurasian "five" and Vietnam increased by more than 60%, rising from $4.3 billion to $6.8 billion.
The growth of mutual trade continued in 2025, amounting to $8.3 billion.
During a recent meeting, the achievements and future cooperation between the EAEU countries and Vietnam within the framework of the Free Trade Agreement, which was signed 10 years ago, were discussed.
"Vietnam became the first country with which a free trade agreement was signed for the EAEU. The main beneficiaries of this agreement should be export-oriented companies, as well as small and medium-sized businesses. It is necessary to make the most effective use of the opportunities provided by this agreement," emphasized the Chairman of the EEC Board, Bakytzhan Sagintayev.
