The deputy asked when the limits on electricity in 3-5 kW will be lifted.
Deputy Minister of Energy Nasipbek Kerimov responded that, according to forecasts, a warming trend is expected in the coming week, which will allow for a transition to summer mode.
The deputy noted that the imposed restrictions negatively affect small businesses that operate from home.
Salymbekov requested a specific answer regarding the possibility of lifting the limits in March, to which Kerimov stated that this issue is under consideration.
“It is necessary to analyze electricity consumption, as the nighttime temperatures remain low,” he added.
At this moment, the draft Agreement on Financing between the Kyrgyz Republic and the International Development Association for the project "Development of the Electricity Market and Energy System Integration (REMIT)" was also being reviewed for approval.
Background:
In early November, "NESC" reported that the electricity connection capacity for residential subscribers had been reduced from 5 kW to 3 kW during peak load hours. The operator of the energy system of the Kyrgyz Republic explained that the restrictions are in effect until March 2026. Also, in early November, following criticism from the president directed at Minister Talaybek Ibraev, the application of the so-called "unlimited" tariff was suspended.
