There are over 5 thousand Kyrgyz citizens in Saudi Arabia who arrived for Umrah— consul

As reported by Nursultan Orunbaev, the consul of Kyrgyzstan in Saudi Arabia, currently more than 1,000 citizens of Kyrgyzstan reside in the country on a permanent basis, including labor migrants and students.
According to the consul, over 5 thousand Kyrgyz citizens have arrived in Saudi Arabia for the purpose of performing Umrah, but so far there have been no requests for evacuation.

“The pilgrims are mainly concentrated in cities such as Jeddah, Mecca, and Medina. A special headquarters is functioning for them, and the muftiyat and the companies that organized their trip maintain constant contact,” Orunbaev added.

He also noted that the situation in Saudi Arabia remains calm. Although the country's airspace is not closed, several international airlines have temporarily suspended their flights.

It was previously reported that about 6 thousand Kyrgyz citizens are in Mecca performing the rituals of minor pilgrimage (Umrah).
