Today, March 2, the Secretary of the Security Council of the Kyrgyz Republic, Adilet Orozbekov, held a meeting with the heads of law enforcement and security agencies regarding the current situation in the Middle East. This information was provided by the information policy service of the presidential administration.

During the meeting, important issues concerning the coordination of actions among state bodies were discussed, particularly regarding Kyrgyz citizens who find themselves in dangerous combat zones. Orozbekov emphasized the need for urgent measures to ensure their safety and to organize their return home. He also instructed that round-the-clock monitoring of events in the Middle East be conducted until the situation stabilizes.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs was tasked with clarifying how many Kyrgyz citizens are in the risk zone, as well as considering options for their temporary accommodation in safe places and, if necessary, emergency evacuation from conflict areas.

Meeting participants noted that the operation of hotlines organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and foreign representatives should be ongoing to provide emergency assistance and consultations to citizens.

Since the beginning of the conflict in the Middle East, President Sadyr Japarov, as well as the leadership of the government and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, have been actively working in an operational mode. This was reported by the Kyrgyz ambassador to Saudi Arabia, Ulukbek Maripov.

According to him, the diplomatic mission maintains constant contact with every citizen, including students and pilgrims who came to perform Umrah. "A special headquarters has been established to work with pilgrims, which, together with the Muftiyat and the State Agency for Religious Affairs, is conducting operational activities," the ambassador noted.

He also reported that 35 Kyrgyz citizens in Bahrain have requested assistance. They have been established with round-the-clock communication, and measures have been developed to provide necessary help in case the situation worsens.

As for air travel, airports in Saudi Arabia are functioning relatively stably, while in some neighboring countries they are closed. Domestic flights are operating without interruptions, local airlines continue international flights; however, the number of flights from abroad has decreased, Maripov added.

Overall, the situation in Saudi Arabia remains stable, active cooperation with local authorities is ongoing, and monitoring of the situation is conducted hourly.

It is important to note that in case of questions or the need for operational assistance, one can contact the direct line in Saudi Arabia: +966 58 376 99 45.

There are more than a thousand Kyrgyz citizens living in Saudi Arabia, most of whom are labor migrants and students. This was reported by the Consul of Kyrgyzstan in Saudi Arabia, Nursultan Orunbaev, at an online briefing.

He stated that more than 5,000 Kyrgyz citizens arrived in the country to perform Umrah. So far, no requests for evacuation have been received.

He also emphasized that the overall situation in the country remains stable. The airspace of Saudi Arabia is open, although a number of international airlines have temporarily suspended their flights.

Earlier, the Muftiyat informed that about 6,000 Kyrgyz citizens are in Mecca to perform the minor pilgrimage (Umrah).
