Since the escalation of the situation in the Middle East, the government of Kyrgyzstan, including President Sadyr Japarov and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, has initiated a series of special measures. This was reported by the Ambassador of Kyrgyzstan to Saudi Arabia, Ulukbek Maripov.

He noted that the diplomatic mission staff is in contact with every Kyrgyz citizen, including students and pilgrims who arrived to perform Umrah. “A special headquarters has been established to work with the pilgrims. Together with the Muftiate, the State Agency for Religious Affairs, and travel companies, we are implementing operational measures,” the ambassador added.

Maripov also reported that 35 citizens of Kyrgyzstan in Bahrain have sought assistance. They have been provided with round-the-clock communication. In case of a worsening situation and the emergence of security threats, measures are in place to provide the necessary support.

“Air flights in Saudi Arabia are functioning relatively stably, while airports in most neighboring countries are closed. Domestic flights are operating as usual, and local airlines continue international flights. However, the number of flights from abroad has decreased,” he noted.

Overall, the situation in Saudi Arabia remains quite stable, and diplomats are actively interacting with local authorities, monitoring the situation on an hourly basis.
