Coal production in January increased by 16.8%, oil and gas decreased by 26%, - statistics
Sectors engaged in the supply of electricity, gas, and heat made up 15.9% of the total volume, while water supply, waste treatment, and secondary raw material recovery accounted for only 0.8%.
The total production volume in the mineral extraction sector in January 2026 reached 6,970.4 million soms, and the physical volume index compared to January 2025 was 137.7%, indicating significant growth in this area.
The main factor contributing to the increase in the mining industry was the rise in the production of metallic ores, which increased by 1.7 times, as well as the extraction of other minerals, which also increased by 1.7 times. In addition, there was a growth in the extraction of hard and brown coal (lignite) by 16.8%.
However, in some areas, a decline was noted: the volumes of crude oil and natural gas extraction decreased by 26%.
