"Smart" meters helped Kyrgyzstan reduce technical electricity losses by 10.6%, - Cabinet of Ministers

On February 27, at a republican meeting in "Yntymak Ordo," Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Processing Industry Erlis Akunbekov reported that the country has already installed 500,000 "smart" electric meters. It is expected that by the end of 2025, their total number will reach 923,107 units.

According to Akunbekov, thanks to the implementation of digital technologies and the execution of technical measures, the level of technical losses in electrical networks is expected to decrease to 10.6% by 2025, which amounts to 152.6 million kWh. This has resulted in an economic effect of 373.9 million soms.
