President Sadyr Japarov stated that the lack of clearly defined borders threatens the security of the state. He made this statement during a national meeting.
According to the head of state, resolving border-related issues has proven to be a complex process for the country.
“The problem of border disputes has been one of the most acute for our state. For over 30 years, conflicts have constantly arisen in areas where borders were unclear, and unfortunately, our citizens have suffered from this. Local residents experienced ongoing anxiety. However, thanks to complex and multifaceted negotiations with Tajikistan and Uzbekistan, it has been possible to achieve a resolution of border issues. In such matters, simple solutions are ineffective. The main criterion remains the protection of national interests while considering the position of the other side,” the president noted.
It is worth mentioning that a national meeting is currently taking place in Bishkek, attended by President Sadyr Japarov. The event also includes government members, heads of state structures, presidential representatives in the regions, mayors of Bishkek, Osh, and other cities, as well as akims.
