Sadyr Japarov met with the special representative of the President of Russia, Mikhail Shvydkoy.
During the meeting, the prospects for strengthening cultural and humanitarian ties between Kyrgyzstan and Russia were discussed. The head of state expressed satisfaction with the successful holding of the Days of Russian Culture in Kyrgyzstan in 2025 and is confident that the Kyrgyz House of Science and Culture, which will open in Moscow soon, will contribute to strengthening cultural ties.
Additionally, Japarov noted that this year the sixth World Nomad Games will take place in Kyrgyzstan and invited the Russian team to participate in this significant event.
The president also emphasized the importance of digitizing the cultural space, highlighting the legacy of the outstanding Kyrgyz writer Chyngyz Aitmatov, whose work has become a bridge between the cultures of the two countries.
Mikhail Shvydkoy, for his part, conveyed greetings and best wishes from Russian President Vladimir Putin to Sadyr Japarov. He emphasized that Kyrgyzstan is a homeland for him, and he is particularly interested in the development of the country, which demonstrates stability and a high level of economic growth.
Shvydkoy also noted that the year 2028 will be significant: it marks the centenary of Chyngyz Aitmatov and the bicentennial of Leo Tolstoy. He proposed to jointly celebrate these dates by creating an organizing committee with the participation of the deputy prime ministers of both countries.
At the end of the meeting, Sadyr Japarov and Mikhail Shvydkoy confirmed their interest in further cooperation and expressed confidence that joint efforts in the field of culture and humanitarian dialogue would contribute to strengthening bilateral relations.
