Sadyr Japarov met with the special representative of the President of the Russian Federation, Mikhail Shvydkoy.
On February 25, the President of the Kyrgyz Republic, Sadyr Japarov, met with Mikhail Shvydkoy, the special representative of the President of Russia for international cultural cooperation, according to the information from the head of state’s administration.
During the meeting, issues concerning the strengthening and prospects of developing Kyrgyz-Russian cultural and humanitarian relations were discussed.
Sadyr Japarov noted that cultural cooperation serves as an important foundation for the development of dialogue and mutual understanding between the peoples of the two countries.
The head of state also expressed satisfaction regarding the successful holding of the Days of Russian Culture in Kyrgyzstan in 2025 and expressed hope that the opening of the Kyrgyz House of Science and Culture in Moscow, which is planned soon, will contribute to strengthening cultural ties.
In addition, the president invited the Russian team to actively participate in the sixth World Nomad Games, which will take place this year in Kyrgyzstan.
Sadyr Japarov highlighted the digitization of the cultural space as one of the key directions and emphasized the significance of the legacy of the famous Kyrgyz writer Chyngyz Aitmatov, which serves as a bridge between cultures.
Mikhail Shvydkoy, in response, conveyed warm wishes from the President of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin, and expressed his attachment to Kyrgyzstan, noting that he is following its development with interest.
He also pointed out that the country demonstrates significant rates of economic growth due to stability and long-term plans.
Shvydkoy noted that 2028, when the centenary of Chyngyz Aitmatov will be celebrated, unites the peoples of both countries, and also mentioned the two-hundredth anniversary of Leo Tolstoy in the same year. He proposed to jointly celebrate these significant dates by creating an organizational committee with the participation of the deputy prime ministers of both countries.
At the conclusion of the meeting, Sadyr Japarov and Mikhail Shvydkoy confirmed their interest in further cooperation and expressed confidence that joint efforts in the field of culture and humanitarian dialogue would contribute to the development of bilateral relations.
