At the Museum of Fine Arts, an exhibition titled "Roerich: Herald of Beauty. The Master, Son of the Master" will open.
On February 26 at 15:00, an exhibition organized by the N.K. Roerich Museum will open at the Gapar Aitieva located in the IZО. The event is titled "Roerich Herald of Beauty. The Master, the Son of the Master."
According to the museum, this event is timed to coincide with two significant dates: the centenary of the Central Asian expedition of Nikolai Roerich and the 100th anniversary of Lyudmila Shaposhnikova, the founder of the International Roerich Center located in Moscow.
In 1989, Svyatoslav Nikolayevich Roerich, an outstanding artist and scientist, returned the valuable heritage of his parents from India to his homeland and founded the N.K. Roerich Center-Museum in Moscow. Lyudmila Shaposhnikova became his trusted representative and the permanent director.
Lyudmila Vasilievna Shaposhnikova is not only an orientalist but also a writer, philosopher, traveler, and a distinguished figure in the arts of Russia. She is a laureate of the International Jawaharlal Nehru Award and an academician of the Russian Academy of Natural Sciences, as well as the Russian Academy of Astronautics named after K.E. Tsiolkovsky. Moreover, she has been awarded honorary doctorates from several academies, including the University of St. Clement of Ohrid and the Mongolian Academy of Sciences. From 1990 to 2015, she served as the General Director of the public Museum named after N.K. Roerich.
