
As of January 1, 2026, the structure of registered vehicles is as follows:
- 972,252 — gasoline cars (51%)
- 57,310 — gas cars (3%)
- 339,938 — diesel cars (18%)
- 56,997 — cars with gas-petrol installations (3%)
- 37,295 — hybrid cars (2%)
- The remaining portion — other types of transport
Among registered vehicles, electric cars account for 0.8% of the total number. In recent years, there has been a steady increase in their numbers:
- 2022 — 1,113 electric vehicles
- 2023 — 2,310 electric vehicles
- 2024 — 3,122 electric vehicles
- 2025 — 9,870 electric vehicles
Additionally, in 2025, there was a noticeable increase in the share of cars younger than 5 years: if in 2024 this figure was 1.5%, in 2025 it reached 4.5% of the total number of registered vehicles.
Currently, in Bishkek, a project called "Green Taxi" is being planned in collaboration with the National Investment Fund. At the moment, mechanisms for its implementation and potential opportunities are being discussed.
More than 100 charging stations for electric vehicles have been installed in the capital, which contributes to the development of infrastructure for environmentally friendly transport and increases the number of electric vehicles on the roads.
The development of environmentally friendly transport is an important step towards environmental protection, improving air quality, and ensuring sustainable urban development. Work in this area will continue on a systematic basis.
