
On the eve of Defender of the Fatherland Day, a ceremony was held to transfer special equipment to representatives of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Kyrgyz Republic. This event took place under the leadership of Adylbek Kasymaliev, who is the Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers and head of the Presidential Administration. During the event, Urmatbek Shamyrcanov, the Minister of Emergency Situations, received the keys to 116 units of new special equipment.
Speaking at the ceremony, Kasymaliev congratulated the employees of the Ministry of Emergency Situations on the holiday, emphasizing the importance of this day as a symbol of courage, heroism, and duty, which holds significant meaning in both the past and modern history of the country.
He noted that this event is part of a systematic effort to improve the material and technical base of the Ministry of Emergency Situations. Over the past five years, the agency has received 652 units of vehicles and special equipment worth 7 billion soms. The acquisition of the new 116 units has become one of the most significant steps towards modernization, indicating a complete renewal of the technical fleet.
The timeliness and adequacy of the ministry's funding were also emphasized. In 2025, the budget of the Ministry of Emergency Situations will exceed 5.5 billion soms, and additional funds allocated throughout the year have been successfully directed towards emergency recovery operations, various infrastructure projects, and the development of border areas.
An important aspect of the discussion was the interaction between government authorities and the population, as well as the need to enhance dialogue in the field of emergency situation prevention. The importance of preventive work and informing the population about risks associated with mudflows, landslides, and other natural disasters was discussed.
In his speech, Kasymaliev highlighted the high level of professionalism of Kyrgyz rescuers, who successfully carry out complex tasks both within the country and beyond, including rescue operations on Issyk-Kul and assistance to earthquake victims in Turkey.
He also noted the important contribution of rescuers to the protection of the ecosystem of Lake Issyk-Kul, including the cleaning of the water body from debris and fishing nets.
