According to Zhantaev, the implementation of this program will increase the level of agricultural product processing from the current 7% to 25% by 2030.
One of the key projects will be a leather raw material processing plant, which is planned to be built in the Nurmanbet rural district of the Issyk-Ata region. Construction is set to begin in 2026, with its opening scheduled for 2027. Investments in this project will exceed 900 million soms.
Additionally, in the Sokuluk district, the construction of a modern trade and logistics center will also start in 2026, which will focus on the primary processing of vegetables and fruits. This project will be funded by a Korean grant of 3 million dollars.
Zhantaev also reported that in 2026, the commissioning of another 12 enterprises specializing in agricultural product processing is planned.
These initiatives, he said, will help farmers increase export opportunities, raise incomes, and improve the living standards of the local population.
Moreover, he noted that the Ministry of Agriculture of the Kyrgyz Republic has received permission to sell Kyrgyz honey in the territory of the European Union following the conducted activities.
