Sadyr Japarov met with Members of the European Parliament

Today, February 18, in Bishkek, the President of the Kyrgyz Republic, Sadyr Japarov, met with a delegation from the European Parliament led by Giuseppina Princi, the chair of the group for relations with Central Asian countries. This was reported by the press service of the head of state.
The delegation included deputies from various countries: Giuseppina Princi from Italy, Sven Simon from Germany, Thierry Mariani from France, Antonin Stanek from the Czech Republic, Christian Vigenin from Bulgaria, Tomas Froelich from Germany, Chiara Gemma from Italy, and Jussi Saramo from Finland.
During the meeting, the prospects for deepening cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and the European Union were discussed. Special attention was paid to strengthening inter-parliamentary ties, issues of human rights protection, and freedom of speech.
The President emphasized that joint work with the European Union is one of the key directions of Kyrgyzstan's foreign policy and expressed readiness to further strengthen bilateral relations.
Sadyr Japarov also noted the importance of holding a meeting of the Inter-Parliamentary Cooperation Committee, which serves as an important mechanism for dialogue between the Jogorku Kenesh and the European Parliament.
“We see inter-parliamentary interaction as an effective way to exchange views on internal and external development issues,” the president stated.
Giuseppina Princi thanked the president for the warm welcome and noted the positive dynamics in relations between Kyrgyzstan and the European Union.
The European Parliament deputies also noted Kyrgyzstan's achievements, emphasizing progress in socio-economic development and efforts to improve public governance.
The members of the delegation expressed their readiness to continue constructive dialogue, emphasizing the need to expand ties in the field of education, including student exchange programs and creating new opportunities for youth.
As a result of the meeting, the parties expressed their intention to develop cooperation in priority areas of mutual interest.
Sadyr Japarov added that Kyrgyzstan is always open to new initiatives and considers this meeting an important step towards strengthening sustainable dialogue with the European Union.
