In the Jogorku Kenesh, a discussion took place following the appointment of Jumgalbek Shabdanbekov as the head of the GKNB, during which several deputies asked questions.
Deputy Dastan Bekeshev raised the issue of the need for GKNB oversight in parliament, noting that its function remains unclear. According to media reports, he expressed dissatisfaction that a curator could be perceived as a control over the deputies.
“What is its purpose? We have a presidential representative and a speaker who can resolve issues without unnecessary public interference. We are not enemies for curators to be placed over us,” the deputy stated.
Speaker Marlen Mamataliyev assured that a written response would be provided to Bekeshev's question.
Additionally, Bekeshev emphasized that the population has concerns regarding the new leadership of the GKNB, particularly regarding issues of property seizure from citizens in favor of the state.
“I heard that there are employees in the GKNB with unusual nicknames — Vaseline, Lizard, and others. How many more are there? Will they be held accountable for their actions? These people have harmed many citizens,” he continued, adding that it is necessary to hear about the further steps of the GKNB.
The deputy also reminded that the GKNB blocked TikTok without prior judicial proceedings and called for the cancellation of this decision, noting that similar content is available on YouTube.
Deputy head of the GKNB Alisher Erbaev commented on the nicknames of detained employees, such as Lizard and Vaseline, stating that such names may have arisen among the people.
“According to the law, each employee has their rank, title, and position. No groups in the GKNB serve and should serve,” Erbaev explained in an interview with journalists.
Deputy Ismanali Joroev also reported on frequent inspections that GKNB employees conducted in businesses together with private auditors. He noted that the conclusions of private auditors are only advisory and cannot replace the decisions of the Audit Chamber.
Entrepreneurs expressed their dissatisfaction with this practice.
