In the Jogorku Kenesh, there is a curator from the GKNB. Dastan Bekeshev is curious about why he is needed.
Deputy Dastan Bekeshev expressed his doubts regarding the need for oversight of the GKNB in parliament.
“What is the purpose of his appointment? This person has been here for a long time. I don’t understand why he is needed. We have a presidential representative, a speaker, and we can always discuss issues behind closed doors. So why do we need a curator for the GKNB? Can anyone answer? Are we enemies that a curator is placed over us?” Bekeshev questioned.
Speaker Marlen Mamataliyev promised that a written response would be provided to Dastan Bekeshev's inquiry.
He also raised issues that concern the public regarding the new leadership of the GKNB. In particular, he was interested in whether the practice of confiscating property from citizens for the benefit of the state would cease.
“Among the employees of the GKNB, there are people with quite unusual nicknames, such as Vaseline and Lizard. How many more like this are in the GKNB? Will they be held accountable? Will the cases be reviewed? These people have caused harm to many citizens. In horror stories, everyone trembled at the thought of a GKNB visit. Sometimes it was justified, and at times it was excessive. I would like to understand what will happen next,” the deputy added.
Additionally, he reminded that the GKNB blocked TikTok without prior judicial proceedings and expressed hope for the cancellation of this decision, noting that similar content is available on YouTube.
We remind you that President Sadyr Japarov appointed Jumgalbek Shabdanbekov as acting head of the GKNB on February 10, after dismissing Kamchybek Tashiev from the position. This appointment led to a series of changes in the GKNB, including the arrest of some employees.
