At "Kyrgyz Export," they talked about the mechanisms for promoting Kyrgyz products abroad
Since its establishment in May 2024, the center has begun implementing various initiatives aimed at supporting exporters. The first area of work is related to expanding opportunities for bringing Kyrgyz goods to international markets. For this purpose, analytical studies and consulting events are conducted, as well as training seminars and individual consultations for entrepreneurs.
“Every business has its unique characteristics and internal barriers, so we provide consulting services taking into account the specifics of each company,” noted Takirov.
The second area focuses on improving the export support system. Based on interaction with businesses, the center formulates proposals that are then submitted to the Cabinet of Ministers and relevant ministries. The government plans to introduce a mechanism for financing export contracts by 2026. As Takirov explained, the problem lies in the fact that after shipping goods, exporters may face payment delays of up to six months, leading to cash flow gaps.
“This creates liquidity problems, especially for companies engaged in medium and large supplies,” he added.
Additionally, a system for partial compensation of costs in case of unfavorable situations in external markets is being developed. An example mentioned was the situation with falling prices for beans, which makes Kyrgyz products less competitive due to logistics costs. In such cases, reimbursement of part of the expenses, including logistics and obtaining international certifications, may be possible.
The third area is the active promotion of Kyrgyz products. Over the past year and a half, the center has organized 43 international events, including exhibitions, B2B meetings, and trade missions. The main priority sectors are food and agricultural products, as well as the textile and industrial sectors.
Starting in 2025, the center will begin to focus on service exports, including the information technology sector. This year, it is planned to launch an export accelerator—a year-long program aimed at supporting companies. The program includes specialized training, support for pilot projects, participation in international exhibitions without competitive selection, and organizing trips abroad to establish contacts with equipment and raw material suppliers.
Particular attention will be paid to the development of the textile industry. In April, an industry forum will be held in Bishkek with representatives from the Russian fashion industry and buyers from retail chains, and in June, Kyrgyz companies will participate in an international platform in Moscow. Participation in exhibitions in Paris and Dubai is also organized annually.
The main market for Kyrgyz goods remains Russia, which is taken into account when forming the center's priorities.
