Public and political figure, as well as former Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan Felix Kulov commented on recent political events that have caused a wide resonance in an interview with the IA "Kabar." He noted that the head of state should have intervened in a situation that threatened the unity of society and could have led to instability.
Kulov expressed his firm position against the idea of holding early elections, considering it a mistaken step from both a legal and political standpoint. He pointed out that, despite his opinion, the demands for early elections had not subsided. In particular, a group of elders prepared and published a letter without notifying Tashiev.
According to him, the president was obliged to respond to such actions, which are, in their own right, unlawful. Kulov noted that the head of state warned Kamchybek Kydyrshaevich of his readiness to take decisive measures, including dismissing the chairman of the State National Security Committee to prevent further abuses. He also mentioned the reorganization of the structure of the State National Security Committee to dismiss employees who acted dishonestly.
The politician added that the president managed to accomplish the task and thus protected the reputation of his long-time friend and colleague, with whom he achieved significant successes in the fight against corruption and organized crime. Kulov believes that this decision will not tarnish the president's reputation and was overall correct.
He also emphasized that there should be no concerns regarding the fight against corruption and crime. The president, according to Kulov, confirmed at the kurultai that this struggle will continue without interruption, based on the law. He assured that all offenses should be considered by the court within the framework of the legislation, which also supports Felix Kulov's position.
