The head of the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan and the Prime Minister of Tajikistan discussed cooperation issues
During the meeting, Adylbek Kasymaliev noted that deepening cooperation with Tajikistan is one of the key directions of Kyrgyzstan's foreign policy. "In 2025, we will focus our efforts on restoring and activating trade, economic, and cultural-humanitarian ties, as well as improving the living conditions of the population in border regions," he added.
The head of the Kyrgyz government reported that in 2024, trade turnover between Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan reached 36 million US dollars, which is 24 times more compared to the previous year.
Kasymaliev also noted that the presidents of the two countries set a goal to increase trade turnover to 500 million dollars and expressed readiness to achieve this ambitious task.
He emphasized that developing good-neighborly relations with Kyrgyzstan is a priority for Tajikistan and expressed readiness to fulfill the set tasks.
During the meeting, current issues of cooperation in the fields of trade, economy, culture, and humanitarian relations were discussed.
