- During the meeting held on February 9 at the EEC headquarters, Bakytzhan Sagintayev, Chairman of the Board, met with Nyam-Osoryn Uchral, Chairman of the Great State Khural of Mongolia.

The parties discussed the importance of the upcoming entry into force of the Temporary Trade Agreement between the EAEU and Mongolia.

According to forecasts, after the agreement is implemented, more than 90% of export supplies from EAEU countries to Mongolia, with a total value of $2 billion, will receive tariff preferences. These measures will help entrepreneurs from the Eurasian "five" save up to $100 million annually.

“Currently, active steps are being taken to ensure the entry into force of the Temporary Trade Agreement. The Commission has already approved an Action Plan for its implementation on the part of the EAEU,” noted the head of the EEC Board.
Foreign trade between the EAEU and Mongolia reached about $3 billion in 2024, which is 2.2 times more compared to 2015. The positive trend in trade continued in 2025.

On June 27, 2025, in Minsk, during a meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council, the Temporary Trade Agreement between the Eurasian Economic Union and its members on one side and Mongolia on the other was signed.
