According to Orda.kz, elite cars, cryptocurrency, and over 150 million tenge were seized from the suspects.
The Almaty Department of the Financial Monitoring Agency is investigating a group involved in the illegal launch and promotion of the online casino 1Win.
“The organizers created an extensive network of legal entities registered under fictitious persons. Through the 1Win platform, players were offered access to over 11,000 gambling games and sports betting, including esports. Money was accepted through bank cards, electronic systems, and cryptocurrency,” the agency reported.
The individuals involved in the case have been placed on an international wanted list. The court has made a decision in absentia to arrest them and confiscate their assets. The list of confiscated items included a Mercedes Maybach S500, Lamborghini Huracan, Toyota Land Cruiser, as well as funds in accounts: 151 million tenge, 14,600 dollars, and 44,400 euros.
The total amount of confiscation exceeded 420 million tenge, and all assets were transferred to the state treasury.
It was previously reported that over 600 billion tenge was withdrawn through illegal online casinos from Kazakhstan. The system included “gray” terminals, fake contracts with bookmakers, and payment services, involving bank employees and a call center with 120 people from five countries. The turnover in cryptocurrency amounted to over 200 million dollars.
