According to the agency, by 2025, the total number of "smart" meters will exceed 923,000.
In June 2025, a preliminary market assessment was conducted, and in July, an international tender was announced for the supply of 300,000 smart meters. Technical proposals were opened in September, and the tender commission completed their evaluation. The evaluation report was sent to the World Bank for approval. After receiving approval, it was decided to purchase an additional 300,000 meters using the saved funds.
