The United States of America has identified three main areas in which it plans to expand cooperation with Central Asia within the B5+1 format. Deputy Assistant Secretary of State John Mark Pomersheim announced these initiatives on February 5 at the B5+1 forum in Bishkek.

The first area focuses on improving the business climate in the region. This involves creating transparent and fair conditions for trade, which should increase the level of trust from American companies in the markets of Central Asia. An important aspect is the support for the development of human capital, innovative projects, startups, as well as small and medium-sized enterprises.

The second priority is trade and investment, including the energy sector and critical minerals. As Pomersheim emphasized, in the context of instability in international markets, it is necessary to strengthen cooperation in the field of critical minerals. "Creating reliable and diverse supply chains, as well as ensuring fair and free competition, are key tasks," he added.

Additionally, the U.S. is interested in collaborating on the implementation of American technologies and standards in the field of artificial intelligence.

The third area is related to the development of trans-Caspian trade and improving transport connectivity, with particular attention to the Trans-Caspian Trade Corridor, which is expected to become an important tool for expanding regional integration and strengthening international economic interaction.
