The gasification of Kyrgyzstan will depend on the development of cross-border gas capacities, - "Gazprom Kyrgyzstan"
Arzymat Aldayev, acting Deputy General Director for Economics and Finance of "Gazprom Kyrgyzstan," reported that the company plans to complete the gasification of the Kyrgyz Republic within five years, approximately by 2030.
He noted that the successful implementation of this project depends on numerous technical and infrastructure factors.
Aldayev also reminded that until 2022, the country's gas supply was provided through resources from neighboring states; however, supplies were halted due to the depletion of fields.
"Currently, gas is coming to Kyrgyzstan in transit from Russia through Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan, but the transit capacities of these countries remain limited," he added.
In 2024, a four-party agreement was signed between Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, and "Gazprom," which envisions the construction of a second line of the main gas pipeline across the territories of the neighbors. This project is expected to be completed by 2027, significantly increasing the volumes of gas supplies to Kyrgyzstan.
According to Aldayev, the company's investment program is synchronized with an international project, under which gas distribution stations and distribution networks are being constructed.
Additionally, there are plans to expand gas supplies for combined heat and power plants in Bishkek, including the city's CHP, CHP-2, and CHP "Bishkekselmash," which are currently operating only at the first stage.
