Kyrgyzstan Aims to Increase Transit Potential by 2030, - "Kyrgyz Export"
Priority areas announced by the director:
1. Increasing the capacity of railway transport. It is planned to increase cargo turnover to 15 million tons per year.
2. Development of warehouse and logistics infrastructure. By 2030, there are plans to introduce at least 1 million square meters of new warehouse capacities in Kyrgyzstan.
3. Construction and reconstruction of republican roads. According to Takirov, for mountainous Kyrgyzstan, the transport connectivity of regions is crucial for ensuring stable and balanced economic growth.
4. Increasing the added value of the transport sector and its role in the economy. It is expected that the contribution of this sector to the gross domestic product will reach 1.5 billion dollars per year.
5. Development of air communication, including passenger transport, considering the growth of the region's tourist attractiveness.
Takirov noted that in the last 3-4 years, the cost of logistics services has significantly increased, making the development of alternative transit corridors necessary. The effective functioning of these routes requires the harmonization of rules and procedures among all participating countries, including the states of Central Asia and the Caucasus, as well as access to the ports of Turkey and Georgia.
He also emphasized that alongside the development of physical infrastructure, an important aspect is the implementation of "soft" components, such as digital documents, unified procedures, and their mutual recognition at borders.
