A Pre-Departure Orientation and Reintegration Center for Migrants to Open in Osh
A Center for Pre-Departure Orientation and Reintegration for Migrants will be established in the city of Osh. This initiative aims to increase citizens' awareness of legal and safe employment opportunities. The center will organize training programs before departure and conduct informational sessions, as well as provide support to migrants who have returned to their homeland. This information was provided by the Ministry of Labor, Social Security, and Migration of Kyrgyzstan.
The creation of the center became possible thanks to a memorandum of cooperation signed between the Ministry of Labor and the International Organization for Migration (IOM) Mission in Kyrgyzstan. The signing of the document took place during a working meeting where Deputy Minister Bakyt Darmankul uulu met with the head of the IOM mission in the country, Serhan Aktoprak.
During the discussion, the participants addressed important issues related to migration, including the protection of migrants' rights and the development of international cooperation in this area.
The meeting also discussed the upcoming International Forum on Migration, which will be chaired by Annalena Baerbock, the President of the 80th session of the UN General Assembly. At this forum, a national report on the implementation of the Global Compact for Safe, Orderly, and Regular Migration is planned to be presented.
As a result of the meeting, Bermet Moldobaeva, the head of the IOM mission in Kyrgyzstan, was awarded the "Cooperation Medal" from the ministry.
