Today, February 4, the President of Kyrgyzstan, Sadyr Japarov, met with Sergio Gore, the U.S. Special Envoy for South and Central Asia. During the meeting, issues related to political and economic cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and the United States were discussed, as well as collaboration in areas such as transportation, digitalization, healthcare, artificial intelligence, and financial technologies.
President Japarov expressed the country's readiness to develop both bilateral and multilateral cooperation with the U.S. based on the principles of equality and mutual benefit.
He also emphasized the importance of strengthening trade, economic, and investment relations with international partners as one of the key directions of Kyrgyzstan's foreign policy, pointing out the significant potential for activating economic ties between the two countries.
In this context, the president noted the significance of the B5+1 initiative (Business 5+1) and expressed confidence that the second B5+1 dialogue forum, which started today in Bishkek, would contribute to deepening trade and economic cooperation between the U.S. and Kyrgyzstan, as well as the implementation of joint projects and strengthening regional connectivity.
Japarov also noted that Kyrgyzstan is interested in further developing cooperation within the C5+1 platform (Central Asia - U.S.), which has proven to be an effective mechanism for promoting multilateral cooperation in the region over the past ten years.
Sergio Gore, for his part, thanked the Kyrgyz side for the warm welcome and conveyed greetings and best wishes from U.S. President Donald Trump.
He confirmed the U.S. readiness for active cooperation with Kyrgyzstan in areas of mutual interest.
Gore emphasized the importance of economic diplomacy and reported the presence of a delegation of American businesses at the B5+1 forum, hoping that this would serve as a good foundation for further development of trade relations between the two countries.
After this, Japarov and Gore continued negotiations with the participation of representatives of American businesses.
