
16 citizens of Kyrgyzstan traveled to the Republic of Korea on February 3, 2026, as part of the EPS program aimed at employment.
A 5-day training session was held at the Ministry of Labor for applicants who received contracts, with a primary focus on the Korean language and its practical use in the workplace.
The training program covers the following aspects:
- Studying intercultural differences and adapting to Korean culture and history.
- Familiarization with social norms, including rules of conduct, traditions, and work ethics.
- In-depth study of the Korean language to improve proficiency and successful integration.
- Practical training aimed at assisting adaptation to the work environment and interaction with management.
The Ministry of Labor reports that the Center for Employment of Citizens Abroad has been successfully operating in this area for 18 years.
According to the agency's data, more than 5,000 citizens of Kyrgyzstan have been employed through cooperation with the Ministry of Labor of the Republic of Korea under the memorandum. Currently, about 1,500 citizens of the Kyrgyz Republic are working under the EPS program in Korea.
Most of them are employed in various sectors of the manufacturing industry, including:
- food production;
- chemical industry;
- paper production;
- factories for the production of plastic, rubber, and glass products.
The average salary is $1,700, while living and food expenses are partially or fully covered by the employer.
It is important to note that the main requirement for participation in the EPS program is a sufficient level of proficiency in the Korean language.
The Center continues its efforts to expand employment opportunities for citizens of Kyrgyzstan abroad and enhance their competitiveness in the international labor market.
