The President of Kyrgyzstan, Sadyr Japarov, shared his memories of the driver training process during Soviet times. During his visit to the State Center for Vehicle Registration and Driver Licensing, he noted that it took him six months to obtain his driver's license while studying at DOSAAF.
“In those years, classes were held daily. We did not study the material from posters, as is done in modern private driving schools. Instead, we thoroughly examined every detail of the mechanisms. The teaching was of very high quality: we were required not only to have theoretical knowledge but also practical skills, for example, being able to show each spare part and explain its functionality,” the president said.
