Kyrgyzstan imported 11.5 million kWh of electricity from Tajikistan for 11.2 million soms in 2025, - Ministry of Energy of Tajikistan

- According to the Ministry of Energy and Water Resources of the Republic of Tajikistan, in 2025, Tajikistan exported more electricity to Kyrgyzstan than it imported.

In the same year, the total electricity generation in Tajikistan amounted to 23 billion 982.6 million kWh.

During the specified period, the total volume of electricity exports reached 5 billion 356.1 million kWh, of which 11.5 million kWh were sent to the Kyrgyz Republic for a total of 1.2 million somoni (equivalent to 11.2 million soms or approximately 0.97–0.98 soms per kWh).

The Ministry noted that more than 90% of the exported electricity was supplied during the period from April to September, when the water levels in the rivers were high.

The import of electricity from Kyrgyzstan to Tajikistan amounted, according to the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Tajikistan, to 13.9 million kWh.
According to JSC "NESC," in 2025, the total volume of electricity imports by Kyrgyzstan was 3.8 billion kWh. The main exporting countries were Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, and Russia.
