There is no interstate dispute between Kyrgyzstan and Russia in the EAEU Court

Currently, the Court of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) is considering an appeal from Kyrgyzstan, which contains a request for clarification of the provisions of the treaty regarding compulsory medical insurance (CMS) in the field of labor migration. At the same time, as noted by the court chairman Alexey Dronov, there are currently no active interstate disputes.

According to Dronov, "currently, a statement from the authorized body of the Kyrgyz Republic regarding the clarification of the provisions of the treaty on labor migration (CMS) is in the large chamber of the court." He also emphasized that there are no interstate disputes in the court's proceedings, including those that may arise between Kyrgyzstan and Russia.

It is important to note that the clarification of EAEU rights carried out by the court, within the framework of an advisory opinion, does not cancel the rights of member states to jointly interpret international treaties. It should also be taken into account that such an opinion is advisory in nature.

Earlier, Maria Zakharova, the official representative of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, reported that Kyrgyzstan did not file a lawsuit in the EAEU Court, but only requested clarification of the provisions of the CMS treaty for the families of labor migrants.
