The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Kyrgyzstan is holding a board meeting on the results of activities for the year 2025.
During the meeting, the results of the operational and service activities of the country's law enforcement agencies for 2025 were discussed, the implementation of the "Safe Country" initiative, as well as issues related to improving the quality of service to citizens and the approval of priority areas for police work.
The Minister of Internal Affairs, Ulan Niyazbekov, opened the meeting, emphasizing the main achievements of 2025, noting that the Ministry of Internal Affairs is actively implementing modern methods and digital technologies to enhance security.
According to him, in 2025, there was a significant decrease in the crime rate in Kyrgyzstan, as well as an improvement in detection rates. The police ensured a high level of public order during more than 120 mass events, preventing serious offenses.
Additionally, in 2025, over a hundred new service buildings were put into operation, significantly improving the working conditions for police officers.
By presidential directive, the transition from the "Safe City" project to the "Safe Country" initiative is being implemented, which started in June 2025. As part of this program, a tourist-ecological battalion was established in the Issyk-Kul region, which ensures the safety of citizens and maintains law and order. The unit is equipped with modern tools and technologies, which significantly reduces the crime rate during the tourist season.
“We focus not only on maintaining order and combating crime but also on providing quality service to citizens, as well as prompt assistance to Kyrgyz citizens and tourists. As a result, nearly 10,000 crimes were prevented,” added the minister.
Ulan Niyazbekov also noted that the second phase of the "Safe Country" project is scheduled for 2026. It is planned to install more than 20,000 video cameras across the country and implement new digital programs, which will significantly improve safety in public places and at mass events.
“The internal affairs agencies systematically fulfill the assigned tasks and continue to take effective measures to ensure the safety of the population,” Niyazbekov concluded his speech.
In his speech, Adylbek Kasymaliev emphasized to the participants the key areas for the further work of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, outlining tasks to strengthen the rule of law and the safety of citizens. During the meeting, he also presented state awards to internal affairs personnel who distinguished themselves in the performance of their official duties.
