Confirming its commitments to ensuring security at the borders, the Border Service of the State National Security Committee (GKNB) is actively developing international cooperation.
According to the agency, border protection is an important task for the State National Security Committee.
According to information from the Border Service, efforts to maintain public order, prevent threats, and create safe conditions for foreigners help improve Kyrgyzstan's image as an open and safe state, which also contributes to the growth of tourist and investment flows.
In 2025, there was a significant increase in the number of foreign citizens visiting Kyrgyzstan.
Compared to 2024, the number of arrivals increased by 18.6%, and relative to 2023, by 20%, indicating a growing interest in Kyrgyzstan as a tourist and business destination, the Border Service emphasizes.
The statistics for the entry of foreign citizens into Kyrgyzstan are as follows:
• 2023 — 17,480,097 people;
• 2024 — 17,682,929 people (an increase of 1.2%);
• 2025 — 20,978,965 people (+18.6% compared to 2024).
This sharp increase in the number of arrivals in 2025 is attributed to the development of tourist infrastructure, the expansion of international transport routes, and the active promotion of the country's cultural and natural potential, as well as an increase in business and investment contacts.
In 2025, a total of 37,050,223 people crossed the border of Kyrgyzstan, of which:
• 18,574,022 arrived in the country;
• 18,476,201 departed from it.
Additionally, 3,260,642 vehicles were registered, of which 1,690,357 cars entered the country, confirming the high mobility of both tourists and participants in international transport.
Furthermore, the Border Service of the GKNB exercised strict control over compliance with border and migration legislation. In 2025, 28,593 individuals with invalid documents were identified, of which 28,006 were not allowed to cross the border. As a result of violations of stay regulations, 2,031 citizens were deported.
