On January 21, the first meeting of the Board of Directors of the UN Global Compact Network in Central Asia took place. This important event was attended by Ulanbek Nogaev, Chairman of the Management Board of OJSC "Eldik Bank," who is also a member of the Board of Directors.
During the meeting, the results of the Network's work for 2023-2025 were summarized, and the main directions of the strategy for 2026-2030 were discussed.
The proposed strategy includes the creation of partnership formats for interaction between companies, experts, and international organizations, the implementation of joint projects, the dissemination of best practices in sustainable development, as well as the application of analytical tools to create sustainable business solutions and enhance the competitiveness of local companies.
It is important to note that OJSC "Eldik Bank" actively participates in the UN Global Compact and became the first bank in Kyrgyzstan to join the Network in 2023, alongside more than 17,000 major companies from 160 countries. Ulanbek Nogaev became the only representative of Kyrgyzstan on the Board of Directors of the UN Global Compact Network in Central Asia.
In his comments after the meeting, Ulanbek Nogaev emphasized that the UN Global Compact Network represents a significant international platform for promoting the principles of sustainable development and responsible business. He added that participation in this Network allows companies to integrate the best international practices, increase their contribution to social and environmental development, and improve corporate governance. Nogaev urged the business community of Kyrgyzstan to actively participate in the UN Global Compact and utilize its opportunities for sustainable and long-term development.
