- On January 21, President Sadyr Japarov held a meeting with sewing enterprises, during which specific instructions were given to representatives of government agencies. This was reported by Nurbek Umetaliev, head of the entrepreneurship development department of the Ministry of Economy and Commerce, during the broadcast.

One of the first decisions was to expand support measures for the industry through preferential lending. In the event of successful project implementation, both an increase in financing volumes and a reduction in interest rates are planned.

Additionally, the president instructed to develop a support program for the sewing sector, the timelines of which are being clarified: both 2030 and other deadlines are being considered. The program will include the creation of industrial zones and technopolises, as well as comprehensive support for companies operating in this field.

The program will also include measures to find new sales markets, attract clients, and implement modern technologies. Enterprises will be able to receive support through the Kyrgyz Export Center to access international markets. Umetaliev noted that the industry has the potential not only for recovery but also for achieving a new level of development.

He also emphasized that working in the "shadows" will no longer be acceptable. Companies must operate openly and officially, having all the necessary documents. The program will include tax incentives, and preferential loans will only be available to those entrepreneurs who operate transparently.

For 2026, subsidies of 300 million soms are planned for a duration of one year. This year, the credit portfolio amounts to about 3 billion 700 million soms, and financing is also planned for subsequent years. The program is designed for five years.

It is expected that the implementation of these measures will lead to an increase in investments and a greater contribution of small and medium-sized enterprises to the country's gross domestic product. Currently, the contribution of SMEs is about 50%, and it is planned to increase this in the future.
