The head of the government discussed the development of hockey and winter sports with IIHF
In the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic, a meeting took place where the Prime Minister Adylbek Kasymaliev met with the delegation of the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF). The delegation included IIHF Council member Franz Reindl and IIHF Finance Committee member Clifton Rottestli, as reported by the press service of the Cabinet.
Kasymaliev emphasized that the opportunity to host the Youth World Ice Hockey Championship in Bishkek is a significant honor for the country and reflects the high level of trust from the IIHF. It also highlights Kyrgyzstan's status as a reliable partner in the field of sports.
He noted that sports have a unique ability to unite people and expressed confidence that the youth national team will continue the successful tradition, demonstrating the progress achieved by the national team since 2022.
The head of the Cabinet also noted that the state will actively support the development of winter sports, including the modernization of sports infrastructure and the training of new talents.
At the end of the meeting, in recognition of their significant contribution to the development of hockey on the international stage, Honorary Certificates from the Cabinet of Ministers were awarded to Franz Reindl and Clifton Rottestli.
