Main provisions of the protocol:
- The Intergovernmental Council on Oil and Gas will be abolished;
- The Agreement on the Establishment of the Council dated March 2, 1993, is null and void;
- Cooperation in the field of oil and gas will now be considered within the framework of the Council on Industrial Policy of the CIS countries.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic is tasked with notifying the Executive Committee of the CIS about the completion of the necessary domestic procedures so that the protocol can come into force.
The protocol will take effect one week after its official publication.

on the Abolishment of the Intergovernmental Council on Oil and Gas
Yalta, September 28, 2012
The governments of the countries that signed the Agreement on the Establishment of the Intergovernmental Council on Oil and Gas dated March 2, 1993 (hereinafter referred to as the Parties) agree as follows:
Article 1.
Abolish the Intergovernmental Council on Oil and Gas.
Article 2.
Recognize that the Agreement on the Establishment of the Council dated March 2, 1993, has lost its validity.
Article 3.
Issues of cooperation in the field of oil and gas shall be considered within the framework of the Council on Industrial Policy of the CIS countries.
Article 4.
This Protocol shall enter into force 30 days after the depositary receives the last notification from the signing Parties regarding the completion of the necessary domestic procedures.
Done in Yalta on September 28, 2012, in one original copy in the Russian language. The original is kept in the Executive Committee of the Commonwealth of Independent States, which will send certified copies to all states that signed the document.
