The Ministry of Energy of Kazakhstan announced on January 14 that the country will cease to be energy-deficient in the first quarter of 2027.

The agency reports the implementation of 81 projects, with a total capacity of 15.3 GW, and total investments amounting to $25 billion. Some of these projects are financed by private investments through the electricity market mechanism.

According to forecasts from the Ministry of Energy, the completion of current works will fully meet the economy's electricity needs by the end of the first quarter of 2027, allowing Kazakhstan to exit the status of an energy-deficient country. Additionally, a stable electricity surplus is expected by 2029.
