Construction of the second hydro unit of the Kambar-Ata HPP-2 continues in Kyrgyzstan

- In Kyrgyzstan, the implementation of the project for the installation of the second hydro unit of the Kambarata HPP-2 is actively continuing, according to information from the press service of JSC "Electric Stations".

To attract experienced contractors, the project has been divided into three separate lots. The works for lots No. 1 and No. 2 will be carried out by the consortium DEC–SM (China/South Korea), while lot No. 3 will be implemented by the company Sinohydro Bureau 16 (China).

Currently, a number of significant works have already been completed at the Kambarata HPP-2 site:

• The main construction sites have been prepared and leveled, including areas for equipment installation, office, and temporary living quarters;


• The concrete work for the foundations of the contractors' offices and residential buildings has been completed;


• The installation of metal structures for office and residential buildings has begun, including load-bearing elements and roofs;


• A technical inspection of the water conduit for the second hydro unit and the compensator for the first has been conducted with the participation of design organizations;


• Preparatory work has been launched for the commissioning of the second hydro unit, which will ensure the transition to the main construction and installation works.

The project is being implemented with the financial support of the Eurasian Fund for Stabilization and Development. Technical support and oversight of the project's implementation are provided by the international consulting company Fichtner GmbH & Co. KG.
