The Housing Committee withdrew the draft law on the ban of electronic cigarettes and vapes for revision.
- "On the prohibition of the use of electronic nicotine delivery systems and electronic cigarettes on the territory of the Kyrgyz Republic";
- "On amendments to certain legislative acts of the Kyrgyz Republic" (in particular, amendments to the Law "On the Protection of the Health of Citizens of the Kyrgyz Republic from the Consequences of Tobacco, Nicotine Consumption, and Exposure to Environmental Tobacco Smoke and Aerosol," as well as to the Code of Offenses of the Kyrgyz Republic).
Committee members noted that the draft law will be revised taking into account the received proposals and comments.
Earlier, during the plenary session, deputies and representatives of the State Tax Service actively discussed the shortcomings of a complete ban, pointing out the increase in smuggling, the lack of tax revenues in the budget, and the possibility of legalizing trade with tax payments.
