Over the past two years, 11 airports and airfields have been upgraded in Kyrgyzstan, including both international and local facilities. This was reported by the director of the State Agency for Civil Aviation under the Cabinet of Ministers, Daniyar Bostонов, during a radio interview.

Among the completed projects are the renovations of the airports in Karakol and Naryn. Currently, reconstruction work is ongoing at the terminals of Manas and Tamchy airports, located on Issyk-Kul.

In addition, Bostонов noted that a new international airport is being constructed in Manas. This project aims to meet international standards and integrate with the railway network that connects Kyrgyzstan with China and Uzbekistan.

A new air point has also been opened in the south of the country for flights from China, whereas previously there was only one point in Karakol. The head of the agency emphasized that the new point allows for the acceptance of aircraft that do not require an oxygen system, which facilitates more flexible use of airspace.

According to Bostонов, current efforts are focused on creating a unified transport hub that will include airports, railways, and highways, with the aim of increasing the logistical capacity of the country and improving the transportation of both cargo and passengers.
