Kazakhstan Uses Drones to Detect Damage on Power Lines
According to the ministry, innovative methods such as computer vision and machine learning allow for the automatic detection of defects on poles and wires, as well as identifying overheating, deformations, and other hidden threats using data from 4K cameras, thermal imagers, and lidar systems.
The Ministry of Energy plans to expand defect classifiers in the field of AI defectoscopy by 2026 and transition from experimental projects to scaling them up.
