The Swiss company can implement a gold traceability system in Kyrgyzstan

This innovation will help streamline the operations of artisanal mines and establish control over the supply chain of ore and gold.

The Chairman of the State Tax Service, Almambet Shykmamatov, held a meeting with representatives of the Swiss technology company SICPA SA, known for its developments in product protection and traceability systems. The press service of the STS reported this event.

Participating in the discussion were SICPA SA's General Director Philippe Amon, Director of Strategic Development Jean-Philippe Godin, and other key staff, as well as heads of STS departments.

The key topic of the meeting was cooperation on the implementation of a tracking system for gold extraction and related minerals, adapted to the conditions of Kyrgyzstan. This innovation is expected to lead to better management of artisanal mines, improved sampling processes, enhanced supply chain control, and minimized illegal circulation of gold and gold scrap.

Almambet Shykmamatov noted that the implementation of a gold tracking system is an important strategic task for the country.

“Kyrgyzstan has many deposits and companies engaged in gold mining. However, without effective tracking mechanisms, there are risks of data distortion, including concealment of extraction volumes by unreliable participants,” he added.

Shykmamatov also emphasized that preparatory work with SICPA SA has already been conducted at a high level. A working group has been created, a roadmap project has been developed, and a foundation has been established for transitioning to practical implementation. The parties are ready to sign the necessary documents.

SICPA SA's General Director, Philippe Amon, expressed support for the STS initiative to implement a monitoring system in the gold mining sector, noting that this meeting is an important step forward.

He added that the successful completion of the project will create a basis for future joint initiatives and expand cooperation in the field of other minerals.

It is worth noting that SICPA SA is a Swiss company engaged in protecting banknotes, documents, and goods from counterfeiting and illegal circulation.
